Anderson Creek Shooting Club

Kitimat. BC.

The Anderson Creek Shooting Club has been in existence for many years as the former Alcan Police Pistol Club. It was renamed in 1997. It consists of a 200 metre pistol/rifle range with 100 foot covered firing line. In addition, a trap range has been built.

The range was initially cleared as a trailer park, and as the townsite developed, this was phased out. Later it was used for a go-cart track, and then it became a shooting range. Local industry and members put in the materials and work to bring it to its present state. Some "historical" photos will show earlier conditions.

It is a "gated" range in that you have to be a member to access it. Membership is $10.00 per year and range rules must be followed. At certain times the range is booked for competition or qualifying, and is only accessible to those users/spectators at those times.

Please consider the various disciplines of shooting that share the range. Safety procedures are in place for a reason! One of the members will be happy to explain them. But you will need hearing and eye protection to visit. One of the coordinators will be happy to arrange for some "loaners" given notice.

We are looking for contributions of stories, information about the range, pictures, etc., to include on this page. This initial page is just a starting point. For sure we'll be happy to scan any old pictures or news articles and include them: just like the range, this page depends on your input. Please E-mail

Yep I'm finally having to come to terms with the fact that 11 years have passed since Trevor created this page (March 19, 1998 - July28, 2009)...Other than updated email, I think we'll keep the rest of this time capsule original even the Netscape and low resolution!
